This past weekend, my sister Shawn sent me this photo in an email without including a message.
I responded “Sophia looks prettier than ever, but I don’t like her ripped pants.”
My niece is second from the left, and I’m well aware her jeans with the torn knees are what’s in style but I still want to sew big patches on them. Wouldn’t they look cuter with big knee patches?
Shawn replied “I’ve always been mental about her shoes being clean and I’m glad they still are.”
I wrote back “Um what is this?” and Shawn answered “Drag Bingo. I love how Sophia isn’t afraid to try new things.”
I suppose those ripped jeans aren’t so bad after all! And on that note…
Hi Doug, I have been wondering how Sophia is doing. She looks great. I imagine she had a fun time!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving Doug!❤️
Robin
Thanks Robin! And happy (belated) Canadian Thanksgiving to you as well, my friend 🙂❤️
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving Doug!
ReplyDeleteThat event looks like fun. I'm sure Sophia paid a lot of money for those jeans...unless the holes happened over time.
Happy Thanksgiving Maebeme! I'm still trying to figure out how drag queens and bingo go together, but it makes for an interesting photo :^) As for those jeans.. Sophia's an excellent shopper, but I'm sure she bought them that way.
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving! I don't like ripped pants either. Looks like the person is homeless and poverty stricken.
ReplyDeleteHaha thank you Queen Gigi--I agree about the look, but we are old school :^) Hope you & your family have a wonderful Hawaiian Thanksgiving.
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving. My grandkids have almost given up ripped jeans, fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteHahaha thank you Cecila, and Happy Thanksgiving to you too! :^)
DeleteThat looks like it would be a riot! I do think it is hilarious that you can buy very expensive "pre ripped" jeans. The fact I don't get it is an effect of my age, I guess.
ReplyDeleteThank you Miss Merry, and you are preaching to the choir my friend! :^)
DeleteI can't believe how long those ripped jeans have stayed in style. I hate them too and sometimes the holes are in NOT so great spots. Sophia is quite the adventurer!
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks Margaret, she is! I just remember in the late 1960s-early 70s, hippie girls with all sorts of patches on their bell bottoms. Groovy times :^)
DeleteLooks like a fun event! Those three dragsters went to considerable effort in their costumes. Can't believe ripped jeans are still popular! When I was a younger dinosaur, rips were well above the knees. Can't image kneeling in gravel, say, to fix a flat tire. Ha! I like your turkey gif! Happy Thanksgiving, Doug!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping I'd hear from you Florence, thanks my friend! I'm still having trouble believing that last one isn't female (c'mon) and hey--you're right about the kneeling! I'm going to use the gravel scenario in my argument she patch those up :^) Happy (Belated Canadian) Thanksgiving to you too!
DeleteI may be the oldest commenter on your site, but I don’t have a problem with ripped jeans.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, but it’s just another Thursday around these parts.
Thanks Music Man, you'll never seem that old to me--I need to think more like you. And Happy Thursday Down Under to you this week too :^)
DeleteEvery generation has their 'thing'. You can remind her of this when her children are caught up in some fad she does not understand.
ReplyDeleteThanks Debby, I already told her a few years ago her kids someday will laugh when they see her with her iPhone. Everyone will gave iHeads!
DeleteMaybe they will be pirates. They might have eye-pads.
DeleteOh dear! Quite the comedian aren't you😄
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving back to you! And I am so glad she's not the one on the right.
ReplyDeleteHaha! AMEN. Thanks for the chuckle, DJan! 😄
DeleteI have not seen ripped jeans in a while. Maybe it's just Massachusetts? On campus anything can be available and it is a time for exploration. Drag Bingo is new to me. That said, I lost track stylish jeans. Call me totally not-in-the-know. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHaha Susan thank you, I always love your feedback! I feel a little less alone thanks to you.. Happy Thanksgiving 😊
DeleteI knew which one was Sophia right away, the prettiest one of course! I worry about the "busty" redhead in pink though, she could knock over quite a few things if she wasn't super careful walking around. Waiters holding trays of drinks need to be careful around her.
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks River! Very nice what you said about Sophia, and I'm anxious to talk to her tomorrow to find out if those 3 characters were really guys--especially the last one! :^)
DeleteJust looking at things and applying the basic laws of physics, it would seem as if not toppling over would be a problem. The shoes would make the problem worse, a top heavy load being supported on such a small, unstable base.
DeleteSophia is lovely, ripped jeans and all! I have been to a drag show and it was hilarious, albeit, mature. 😊 Happy Thanksgiving! Joyce
ReplyDeleteThank you Joyce (and very interesting about the drag show, I've never been). Hope you're doing well, and Happy Thanksgiving to you too. :^)
DeleteI found out I did not have a silent heart attack ( although the cardiologist told me twice I had.). I have a heart defect that doesn’t cause any problem except for an abnormal ekg reading. I can now schedule my gallbladder removal next week, yay! Joyce
DeleteJoyce, that is good news- - I hope. Please let me know how that goes. 🙂
