I just wanted to share some photos of my beautiful niece Sophia, who just returned home after a week in Italy.
My sister Shawn was worried she wouldn't want to come home to Greene County, Pa; I was worried she'd be snatched up by one of those Italian modeling agencies looking for their next tall and skinny model!
(Sophia is 21 years old, 2 inches taller than me and probably doesn't weigh half what I do. Plus she's beautiful.)
Anyway, here's some pics of her in Rome at the Coliseum, Venice and Tuscany. I was only planning on showing "selfies" here as I don't know Sophia's friends, but we'll see.
I just wanted to focus on Sophia anyway. 😊💛
Ok, this one of Sophia and her friends is so pretty I couldn't resist

What a nice trip for Sophia! And, Doug, you're correct. She's gorgeous--and intelligent, too! I can see why your sister was worried. Sophia looks like she fits perfectly in Italy. And that wouldn't be a bad place for her to eventually live. I would advise any smart, young person with their life ahead of them these days to consider other countries. At 72 it may be too late for me but if my son and his family would go I would leave in a heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteThank you Don! I haven't gotten to talk to Sophia since her return a couple days ago, but you're certainly right. She seemed to fit in there very well. It amazes me. And I don't blame you one bit for wanting to live somewhere else if possible. I agree.
DeleteShe looks like she fits in perfectly in Italy and with a name like Sophia--she could pass for Italian! Beautiful photos, Doug. They make me want to go back to Italy.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Margaret--she does look like she fits there, doesn't she... I'm very sure someday she'll be as well traveled as yourself. :^)
DeleteIt is obvious that Sophie (and her friends) had a wonderful trip. My favorite photo is the one of her in the apron. It's fun and beautiful with the cantina in the background.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure her hometown will seem at little tame but remind there are other trips to come!
Thanks Maebeme, you're very kind. I'm still amazed she did all this. 😊
DeleteHi Doug,
ReplyDeleteSophia's very photogenic. She'd make a great model for sure. I'm glad she had a wonderful time in Italy. Cheers!
Steve from Toronto
Hi Steve, what a nice thing to say. Thank you my friend, I hope you're doing good. 🙂🤝
DeleteI won’t say what I think in case you think I’m a pervy old man.
ReplyDeleteHaha--Peter I've known you for years and know you're a good guy. Thanks for your ornery compliment. 😊
DeleteOooh, what a fun time for the girls. Great trip, great adventure. Was there an occasion for the trip? Birthday? Graduation? Or just a, "Let's go to Italy," adventure?
ReplyDeleteThanks dkzody--I believe it was a large group of 20 Slippery Rock students, a "learning trip" of history and culture. The school has done trips to other countries before. Sophia had to work & save for months to go on this trip!
DeleteGreat pics, Dug! Thanks for sharing them. Sophia is a beautiful young woman... and very photogenic. I especially like the one with the umbrella. Looks like it could be the cover of a book! So glad she had a good time and returned home safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rian! I was looking forward to you seeing them. I'm just glad they let me share them. 😊❤️
DeleteHi Doug, my goodness, what are they feeding kids these days? Sophia and her friends are just beautiful! Looks like they packed a lot of activities in a week’s time. My brother is getting back today from a couple weeks in Europe. He had a wonderful time too. Take care Doug.❤️
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin, and yes I agree these girls all look amazing. That's wonderful to read about your brother too, wow. 🙂❤️
DeleteSo glad Sophie had a fabulous time. Great pics to share. DL
ReplyDeleteThank you DL.
